Portions
First food
23 days. Nothing else but that water and decaf tea (had to stop Irish
Tea for a week before and two weeks after surgery, that was harder
than the diet!)
Yesterday on a spin on coast with folks we stopped by a cafe, gone out
a few times since I've been done and also takeout and been grand. It's
strange as your head goes Jasus I would love some of that but your
body is ok with not having it. Finally learning between real hunger,
head hunger and thirst as they all feel different. Up to now I would
probably eat first and not think which it really was
Anyway, lovely wee diner/cafe overlooking the pacific on a sunny windy
afternoon. I decided to try soup if they had any I could have as still
on liquids. Technically allowed semi solids now like tofu, egg etc but
staying on liquids for another 4 weeks since the hormone still gone
to make me hungry so might as well take advantage of it. I asked what
soups they had
Clam chowder, yummy but fatty and not liquid. Chicken tortilla. So
asked if they wouldn't mind me being large lol pain in arse and
straining for me explaining on liquid diet. (I even have a wee card to
whip out to ask for senior and kids portions that doctor gives you,
and no I don't plan to use it or get it as a tatoo).
That's the nice thing about America, waitresses are usually fine about
the requests if not busy and know you'll tip well. It was empty and
said see what they could do. A wee cup came of the soup all strained
and first real food in 23 days. Yummy. Spicy tortilla chicken soup.
About 9-14g protein I was reading so right in my lunch range with a
protein tea. Was nice to have something warm and different. Didn't do
my walking yesterday as drove folks around to see the coast but lovely
day
So still planning stay liquids but now will be looking at soups at the
shops and restaurants when we go out
Speaking of adventures, my folks tried Thai food for first time last
night and liked it. Red curry, chicken paid thai noodles, chicken
satay, crab cakes, Vietnam veggie fresh rolls. All smelled yummy and I
had fuzzy navel protein drink which was grand. All went well Witt
folks till Dad ate a red chili by mistake but recovered nicely once
his eyes stopped streaming

Two weeks down
pounds from operation. It's an amazing start and I know not to expect
that weekly otherwise you'll be chatting to a skeleton by end of June ;)
Found out you can't add extra protein powder to the protein soup.
Clumpy rotten looking so threw that and had a drink instead. I also
bought exercise gear in smaller sizes for myself while at Walmart with
Mam. Just so I can do those bends without my shorts falling off ;)
seeing doctor tomorrow and see what he thinks of my wounds. I'm hoping
get all clear to go into standing water so I can bathe and also hot
tub. Also the pool at club is lovely and much easier walking on my
pelvis who keeps reminding me that although my stomach might be new
and improved it's not and take my time :)

Stars
that but need to make sure hydrated. You need the protein to fuel yourself and this way the body goes after the stored fat (unfortunately not all the jelly belly but all over, it's not that smart) instead of taking your muscle mass. After a month I can start exercising, right now it's just walking allowed and no swimming or standing in water with my incisions. Although did 2.5 miles yesterday with my Mam just walking around mall. So doing well and thankfully nursing still going well too which I love and also as added bonus is another exercise.
